Violet Costello
Bio
Violet Costello received her MFA from Concordia University. Her narrative paintings are often comical, but they also raise unsettling questions about our place in the world. Recent paintings reflect on environmental, social and political issues, including gender, gun violence, and women’s rights. Her painting series Bringing Home Baby received the Procreate Project Mother Art Prize 2020 Online Award with Richard Saltoun Gallery in London UK. She was a finalist with a work from this series in the 2019 Salt Spring National Art Prize. Costello has received awards from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, British Columbia Culture, and Canada Council.

Parking Considerations: The studio is located in our detached garage in the backyard. You can park at the front of the house and walk to the backyard studio or there is a parking pad for 1 car and alley parking behind the studio.
