Bio
Isabel Ostrom is a professional Calgary artist who finds creative inspiration through her love of animals and the outdoors in British Columbia and Alberta. Primarily self-taught, Isabel is a “colourist” who celebrates nature through her bold techniques using transparent glazes juxtaposed against opaque pigments. She loves bringing joy into people’s lives through her bright paintings and she is well known for her ability to convey an animal’s larger-than-life personality (both domestic and wild). Isabel primarily paints in acrylic, as well as in oil. She sells her work privately and through group shows and exhibits, and accepts private commission work.
