Marina Nelson's painting, sculpture, and textile artwork explore connections between landscape, memory, and the subconscious. She instinctively understands colour, line, form, and texture. Nelson enjoys the play of light and dark in her abstracted landscapes creating a dreamlike, magical dimension. Nelson’s objective has never been to depict but to evoke whether it be a sense of place, an atmosphere, a feeling, or a memory. Techniques that the artist employs freely are working in layers, obscuring and revealing, adding and erasing. Nelson's audacious and poetic artworks have graced homes all over the world.
