Bio
Linnea has her BFA from the Alberta University of the Arts, majoring in jewellery & metalsmithing. Linnea's work is in the form of contemporary landscapes & details of nature. As an artist, she's drawn to the fluidity and spontaneity of watercolour, a medium associated with tradition. She pushes the boundaries of tradition by using nontraditional watercolour substrates, infusing her work with contemporary energy. The unconventional use of watercolour & inks allows for unexpected textures, layers & interactions, giving the paintings a modern feel that contrasts with the medium’s historic reputation. Her work seeks to reframe watercolour within the context of contemporary art, challenging preconceived notions of watercolour.
