Karen Brown
Karen started working on art seriously in 2007, taking courses at ACAD. With the encouragement of an instructor, she started exhibiting and selling.
Her first love was creating still-life interiors. She then moved to abstract work, which took the form of hard edges, often utilizing vibrating colours. Recently, she found herself returning to drawing and its meditative aspect. This evolved into on-site drawing, coupled with mixed media, telling a story about her subject. Her background in interior design has influenced her current series featuring historic homes in Calgary and their fascinating stories.
